This FSCJ Continuing Workforce Education course
is designed for nurses or nursing graduates who the Florida Board of Nursing
requires to complete an RN Remediation course to retake the Florida NCLEX exam
or have their nursing license reactivated or transferred to Florida.
This Florida State Board of Nursing-approved course meets the state of Florida mandated guidelines of 80 instructional hours, plus 96 clinical hours.
This course has been approved to meet the NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) preparation and educational requirements for the state of Florida only. Requirements for nursing licensure and eligibility to sit for the NCLEX may vary by state. Students who reside outside of Florida or plan to pursue licensure in another state should contact their respective state board of nursing to verify that this course meets their state’s requirements before registering for the course.
Any student enrolled in this course who resides outside the North Florida region will be required to complete an individual preceptorship in their local area in place of the FSCJ clinical.
Clinical Component:
Students perform the required clinical at an assigned FSCJ-designated medical facility partner. If the student is out of state, they must perform an individual preceptorship or at a medical facility of their choosing.
Students performing a preceptorship must have the site confirmed by FSCJ at least 30 days before the start of the clinical rotation. (Please note: Additional documentation may be required and the chosen site will be required to complete an Affiliation Agreement approved by FSCJ.)
Students are required to perform a physical, background check, drug screening, and show proof of immunization records to perform clinical rotation. Please be aware that the decision to request this information is decided by the medical facility and is not a requirement of FSCJ.
CPR Requirement:
Students must have an active CPR/BLS Certification to complete the clinical portion of this course. To view FSCJ’s upcoming CPR/BLS Certification schedule please visit our course page here.
