The Nursing Assistant Career Certificate (C.C.) program is designed to prepare nurses assistants who will provide various patient care services in many different health care settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, home health and psychiatric clinics, to name a few. Working closely with physicians and nurses, a nursing assistant provides patients with vital support while affording physicians and nurses the resources to do their jobs well. As part of a true team of health care providers, nursing assistants are an integral part of the complete patient experience.
The program features curriculum that is needed for certified nurse assistant classes and 40 hours of clinical experience in hospitals, nursing homes and sub-acute/long-term care facilities, which provides comprehensive certified nurse assistant training. Upon completion, it is recommended that students complete the Florida Board of Nursing Certification exam to earn Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credentials allowing students to provide certified nursing assistance in a variety of settings.
