The Surgical Technology Specialist Technical Certificate (T.C.) program prepares students to become a contributing member of a surgical team and to demonstrate safe patient care and surgical consciousness. Embracing innovation and the latest in technology, the program offers students relevant education and hands-on training necessary to successfully support a team of surgeons, physicians and nursing professionals through pre- and post-operative surgery care.
Upon completion, graduates may sit for the National Certifying Examination to become a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). Students who pass the CST exam will be eligible for licensure in surgical technology through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
Degree Options
This certificate articulates directly into the Surgical Services (2167) (A.S.) degree. Students may pursue the surgical technology specialist certificate to develop or upgrade their skills, or pursue the A.S. degree and earn the certificate while completing the requirements for the degree.
